Hello -

We've quietly re-launched the Snapshot feature of Parade.com. We built Snapshot using Gallery2.

The Gallery community, this site in particular, has been a tremendous resource to us.

What are the best way(s) we can say Thanks to the Gallery2 community?

In addition to making a monetary donation, what are other recommendations you'd make? We've created custom Java code, as well, to help integrate Gallery2 with our J2EE environment; we'd like to package that and submit back to the community, as well, if it will be of use.

Thanks, and please post or send your suggestions.

Steve

Wow, excellent work there!

If you haven't done so already, please submit this gallery as a demo site at http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?q=gallery&g2_view=linksubmit.LinkSubmit .

While I completely understand if you want to keep your theme customizations for yourself (we do that too for gallery.menaltoc.com), I think that the best way to contribute back is indeed to publish your J2EE integration code and to add your gallery to the demo site list. Your solution certainly looks very impressive which will help the community to realize the potential of G2.

Thanks, Valiant - we appreciate your comments.

I've submitted Snapshot to the Gallery2 demo site.
We have more work to do to package up our registration integration work for publication. We've had a tremendous amount of help from a great Gallery2 community member with our theme customizations; we'll see what, if anything, makes sense for us to share of that, as well. Right now, our focus remains tuning our implementation for scalability and performance before we start publicizing it heavily. I'll post questions and comments regarding that in the appropriate Forum.

Again, thanks to you, the rest of the core team and the entire community for providing such a great product on which we could base Snapshot. There's much more to come ...

hmmm well the majority probably just leave the gallery2 link at the bottom.... hence the #1 result when you type gallery in google :)

That's an amazing mod :)

Hello - Hope you're doing well. We've leveraged Gallery and our work with it on Snapshot a few more times this year.

The latest was a hack to defer processing for our "Oceans of Wonder" contest until lighter usage time. Details are in this post. We'd be happy to share if it's of value to anyone in the community.

We're also using Gallery to power our very popular Cartoons site. (and we use Sugar Professional to manage submissions to our Caption Contests.)

This is in addition to ongoing improvements to Snapshot we've made in the last ~12 months (Improved our J2EE <-> Gallery user handling; admin tools that help our internal processes, etc.).
