I installed Gallery Remote 1.5 on my Vista machine and one thing I thought was weird was that it wanted to install in my c:\user\myname\ directory. Second thing that I thought was weird was that it did not find my java installation (the latest version) so I had to direct it to my java executable.

The installation completed, but there are no shortcuts, no program menu, and no uninstaller. I can, however go to the directory where I chose to install the program (c:\program files\gallery_remote\) and I can run the program just fine (except for the fact that it can see the gallery when logging in, but can't see the photo's in it.

Attempting to uninstall it (by going to the UninstallerData folder and clicking on uninstaller file, I get an error stating "Invalid or corrupt jarfile c:\program files\gallery_remote\uninstallerdata\uninstaller.jar"

Any suggestions?
If I have to uninstall this program manually, can you tell me what registry edits I need to make?

Have you tried uninstalling it with any software like "advanced uninstaller".

I have this same exact issue with Gallery Remote 1.5 on my two Vista SP1 machines. One is Vista Ultimate, the other Home Premium. I can't find any advice on how to get a clean installation that includes executables, including jpegtran, imagemagick and Gallery Remote.exe. I've tried both the installation including the Java VM and without, with the same results. Any advice?

I have the same problem on Windows Vista 64bit. For some reason, the installer wanted to install Gallery Remote in my personal folder. I installed ImageMagick separately. Still Gallery Remote can not find ImageMagic or Jpegtran even though they are both on the computer. I even changed the im.properties file from this:

# path to the convert executable installed with ImageMagick, including the name of the executable (jpegtran)
# use forward slashes (/) rather than back slashes (\) even on Windows
im.convertPath=convert

to this:

# path to the convert executable installed with ImageMagick, including the name of the executable (jpegtran)
# use forward slashes (/) rather than back slashes (\) even on Windows
im.convertPath=/Windows/System32/convert

then this...
im.convertPath=/Windows/System32/convert.exe

and then this...
im.convertPath=C:/Windows/System32/convert.exe

all to no avail.

It's been two years. Any progress on this yet?

Same problem here on Vista Business (32-bit). "Unable to completely uninstall application" is the error that I get. I also tried Piriform's CCleaner and no dice. I was, however, able to uninstall ImageMagick with no problem.
