I installed gallery 1.5.6 yesterday and integrated it into Mambo successfully. I was having trouble with getting the images to show but I kept troubleshooting. I searched your forums and looked at the FAQ and finally found the problem. I just wanted to post because I saw that a lot of people were having the same problem but they created a new post on it without researching it first. I just wanted to let you know that people ARE reading the FAQ and ARE reading the forums to find solutions and not just posting first. THANKS! You guys have a great product. I'm in the Air Force and it's going to be great having a gallery on my site that my family can check and keep up on my family without having to go to an external host like webshots or photobucket to get the pics. Thanks again.

Hello Alan!

Thanks for this nice words.

This kind of feedback motivates me to keep G1 alive.

If you have any ideas to make G1 better ... let me know.

Hrm, I'll have to think about that. I do have a question though. Is there a way to have the albums show up beside one another instead of one on top of another?

At the "front page" ?

Like this: http://jems.de/gallery-1.6 ?

Not in 1.5.x, this will be a feature in 1.6+

Yes like that. I shall say now that I eagerly await 1.6. Thanks!

I have two and a half things now that I'm thinking about it. 1) What are the risks of upgrading my 1.5.6 install to the latest 1.6 beta/are there instructions on how to do so? 2) NetPBM was frustrating...I realize that Gallery 1 simply USES netpbm (if you so choose) but neither package for netpbm had all of what you needed. I had to get 1.4 and 1.1, dump them into a folder together and then chmod them to get them to work. Seems like there should be a "this is what you need for netpbm to work with gallery 1 package" to download from here. Just a thought...

Well I decided that since my gallery install was brand new I would just go ahead and delete it and try your beta of 1.6 and I found the instruction in the docs directory of the gallery 1.6 package. I made a tar.gz of my netpbm directory if you want it or if anyone else wants it for that matter.
