tar xvf gallery-1.5.6.tar unpacked to ./gallery ... argh

I think the gallery distribution would be safer and more conventional if the tar file unpacked itself into a directory with the same name as the tar file -- as most do. e.g., in this case, I had no doubt that I would create a new folder tree named gallery-1.5.6. However, I instead overwrote my 1.3.4 gallery with the files from 1.5.6 in one easy step.

I think you'd have fewer stubbed toes amongst the user base if you avoided this slightly unusual naming convention, and had the files unpack into a version-stamped directory.
