Cannot admin Gallery 1.5.6 within Joomla 1.0.12

I used the bridge that came with Gallery 1.5.6 to integrate it into my existing Joomla 1.0.12 installation. Worked like a charm init.php: Gallery seems to be inside Mambo, but we couldn't get the necessary info. The error refers to Mambo, but I made sure I used the Joomla component installation and not the Mambo one. For me it's not really a big deal to go to the gallery URL and do stuff there, but I want users to upload their pictures into specific albums and I want them to do that from within Joomla and not going to the actual gallery page. Right now that's not possible because of that error. My Joomla installation is about half a year old. Didn't hack the code or anything, it's still the original code. The Gallery 1.5.6 installation is two days old. I have this happen on two different Joomla installations on two different domains which I switched over to Gallery 2 days ago. I hope this can be fixed somehow. I wouldn't even know where to look. The following information is required to get an answer: |

The problem is, I can only add pictures or administer the albums if I go directly to the gallery URL. From within Joomla, I always get this error:
