Hello!
Is there a way to protect your data from all website visitors except registered members or users? I only want to certain people see family pictures on my website I thought I properly configured this but can't seem to get it to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello,
In g1 this is not possible, because it has no image firewall. You would need to use .htaccess files.
In G2 this is possible.

wolfe,
If you only want registered users to view albums, pull down "Album Actions", select "Permissions". The second item from top is "Users who can see the album." You'll probably see "EVERYBODY" in that field. Remove "EVERYBODY" (most likely you'll see "NOBODY"), then select "LOGGEDIN" from the left hand side.
You'll have to do this for each top level album. If you want to protect all sub-albums, there is a check box "Apply permissions to all sub-albums" near the bottom of the Permissions pop-up window. Check this and the same settings will be applied to all sub-albums.
Hope this helps.

That worked. It was a bit hard to follow at first but figure it out. Your information helped. Just for the new user I would say
1) Login to gallery
2) Create another group of users called "family" or something like that.
3) Select the drop down box under the album you want to protect. Select permissions
4) In the New Group Permissions, add new group permissions "(core) view all items" with the group name family
5) Then above that section in the Group permissions sections remove the Everybody "(core) view all items"
You need to do this for every album that you want to protect. This beats password protecting the page.
It is feature rich so it does take a little getting used to. Liking gallery more and more.
