After 2 years of Globat hell, I've finally found a friendly LOCAL webhosting company who is willing to work through any issues we run into getting gallery running. They currently don't have any customers using it, but are giving me a year of hosting in exchange for working through the kinks.

Currently, I'm running 1.5.1 on Globat and have about 3GB of pictures at http://www.jasonburroughs.com/gallery

I thought I would migrate to the new server (d1760.u21.monsterbitmedia.com), then upgrade to gallery 2.

However, 2 very weird things have happened:

1. I downloaded my entire gallery, then uploaded it to the new server. However, when I go to d1760.u21.monsterbitmedia.com/gallery (or /gallery/setup), it redirects to my own gallery at jasonburroughs.com. This may be a misconfiguration on the new server, and I've left voicemail for the webmaster to tell me if that's the case.

2. I wiped out the new site and uploaded gallery 1.5.7. I go to d1760.u21.monsterbitmedia.com/gallery/setup and it takes me to the source code of the page if I use my Mac and Firefox, or a "error 500: internal server error, the problem is on the server side, not with your browser or the address".

What can I expect to be the cause of these issues, so that I can tell the webmaster what to tweak?

Thanks!

have your host look at http://codex.gallery2.org/Category:Gallery_2:Installation

then just follow through http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:migration

all you really need is ~/gallery/albums/ intact, nothing else. once you get a working Gallery 2 (install 2.2.2 - full package) up and running, then just import.
