How do you name your image files?

What's your way of naming your files? and why did you choose that particular way of doing it? I noticed in another posting someone asking how many images people had uploaded and with that it made me wonder how they kept all those files organized.

So do you use the date and time, and maybe add a bit of what the image is (or what album it's going to go into)? or do you use some other way?

I'd love some feedback - thanks - tincoo

Googles loves if you use meaningful filenames.

In my computer I use
Year_month_day_shortdescription_3digits
I use date and description on folder.
I started using dates when my and images grew so high that I could not find anything. I usually have a general idea when I shot an image. When I merge project images into one folder the date prevents images from having the same name as other images of the same subject.

I use Gallery only for client viewing and ordering
For images being uploaded to Gallery I just use 3digits

This works this system works for me.

Interesting question but you did not say how you name your files.
