Recently ran across reCAPTCHA on another website, and think it might be a good solution to some of the captcha problems gallery 2 has been having and controlling spam. It would be great if this could be a plugin or even if it replaced the default captcha in gallery. Also it would help in digitizing physical books which is a good thing. There seems to be many plugins (http://recaptcha.net/resources.html) already created so it shouldn't be too hard to get it into Gallery. It knows if you read it correctly by showing two words instead of one, one of which was already solved earlier. If you get the one that was solved correct, it assumes you got the other one correct as well. Seems like a cool concept. You can see it in action here: http://recaptcha.net/learnmore.html P |

note to self: search box doesn't search for feature requests. Good to see someone got the ball rolling already then. P

I just installed this onto the latest build, etc. Works fine so far. I do appreciate you taking the time to set this up. It is far more oblique than the stock mechanism!
Suggestion: it would be great to be able to control the use of this as you can the stock mechanism. Namely, to login to the Admin function I would prefer it be not "on", etc.

patrick

Thanks a LOT for this module, i have been waiting for something like this to come along for quite some time!
I've finally been able to re-activate the "contact us" module and the "comments" module without freaking out everytime i check my mail !
greetings,
Rik
ps. If i can do you a favor with free hosting in return for this module, just let me know how much you need ;)

It seems i was shouting to soon... for some reason the contact form (that can use the default captcha module) doesn't use the recaptcha module...
does anyone here have simular experiences and possibly a solution?
example: http://www.psygarden.be/gallery
Kind regards,
Rik

works fine with comments enabled (on multisites running Gallery 2.3.1 & PHP 5.3.3 setup) - but doesn't have a configure option to enable it for the the login page, unlike the core plugin Captcha which does.
