Hello,

I am trying to find a solution to embed a G2 album slideshow into a web page within my cms. I want it to appear only in part of the page (see attached image). Using themes isn't the solution because I want the slideshow to be just that - a slideshow. I don't want to take over the page. I have managed to do this by feeding a G2 RSS feed into a flash based slideshow / gallery application. However, the problem with Flash is that it doesn't print too well with the rest of the page.

I am also looking into other image viewing scripts like lightbox, thickbox etc. but none of them seem to use RSS. I don't HAVE to use RSS, but that seems to be the only way I can have G2 talk to a non-G2 application.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any suggestion / comment will be greatly appreciated!

Which CMS? Is your Gallery embedded in your CMS? If you're using one of the CMS options in which Gallery can be embedded, seems like what you want would be possible.

I am using Joomla! However, I want to embed the slideshow - not the gallery.

There is a mini slideshow from http://www.flashyourweb.com/ that uses xml and flash. I think it has a big brother was well.

Floridave,

I don't think you read my post fully :). I already have a Flash based solution that's awesome (see pic attached to first post)! However, the problem with that is that it doesn't print. Even if I can get the Flash to print, it doesn't print with the rest of the page. So I am looking for some sort of slideshow solution (Javascript maybe?) that will let me print the page along with the picture. I don't really care if the page prints with only one image (the current image) showing - it's better than having a blank box :).

I hope that clarifies my problem a little more...

There is a completely configurable YUI component that could work.

Hi Suprsidr,

Thanks for the link... I checked out the carousel module.. and honestly, I have no idea how it can be used with Gallery. It looks like a cool app... but so do SmoothGallery and others. The question I am trying to figure out is what I can do to incorporate G2 slidehsows (note - only slideshows, I don't want any other info) into my Joomla CMS web site.

Maddunr: it's been over three years since your last post in this thread. Did you ever find a solution? I wanted to know what you ended up using.

This is what I've been doing to incorporate slideshows into my site without embedding Gallery2 into my Joomla CMS:
http://www.johnstonjournal.com/j15/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=131

It's not perfect, but it's the best I could ever come up with. I've listed various slideshows in the right module table so visitors can load other selected slideshows.

@jeffj
You can embed cooliris' 3D embeddable wall into any page easily for G2 and G3.
You can also use SlideShowPro with my connectors.
And as you have on the bottom of your example, my Minislideshow works as well - even large or fullscreen.
