Hello, Cannot get WPG2 RC3.0 Final to validate. Have tried manually setting URL paths to no avail. Keep getting: Quote:
URL to your Gallery2 Error 110: Connection timed out retrieving http If I use the automatic configuration I get Quote:
URL to your Gallery2 is Empty. Have tried setting chmod to 755 on almost everything and have the latest versions of WP and Gallery2. Looked at other posts and tried various suggestions.. still no luck. Can anyone help? thanks Abel. |

Hi,
I rolled back to WPG2 2.13 and all worked fine, would like to use latest version but have already wasted a day trying everything possible to get it to work.
Will keep an eye on any future releases.

WPG2 3.0 tries to verify the Gallery2 URL is correct as we have found that people have incorrectly changed this URL resulting in broken images. Unfortunately it looks like a number of hosting firms are stopping the validation of URL checks which is a royal pain to work with. As it stands I may just pull that check out all together and just hope people get it right when they manually change the URL.

Thanks for the info.
Might be a wise idea to disable the validation if that is the cause of the problems and simply put a warning to people on the URL input form warning of the dangers of incorrect URLs?

Yes I just committed those changes into WPG2 Code Ready for 3.0 Release, WPG2 will just generate a warning now..

I just moved the changes into Wordpress Extend as well, so grabbing a fresh copy from Wordpress Extend will contain the fixes
