I have used an older version of WPG2 and wordpress and this always worked fine, but when I updated Wordpress to 2.3, I also had to update WPG2 and Gallery2 as well.

This are the versions I'm using:

WPG2: 3.01
Wordpress: 2.3
Gallery version = 2.2.3 core 1.2.0.5
PHP version = 4.4.6 apache

But now I'm getting this error:
Fatal error: Undefined class name 'gallerycoreapi' in /mydomain/www/wp-content/plugins/wpg2/wpg2validate.inc on line 147

The gallery installation is located at the same domain in the foto subfolder; /mydomain/www/foto

Reading the error, something is probably missing somewhere, so I threw all the wpg2 stuff away and put it there again. I also took the wordpress 2.3 files and overwritten the wordpress installation. Then i took the full installation package of gallery and again overwritten all the files.

But all those things did not help and I'm still getting this error in the WPG2 tab of wordpress.

Any ideas on this one?

Did you deactivate and reactivate WPG2, then validate it?

Those steps look familiar from when I first set up WP 1.5.2, G2 2.0, and WPG2 1.0 two years ago. :)

Are you able to get to the WPG2 paths page? If so, what are the textboxes showing?

:$

I feel like such a n00b.

It was never a problem to get to the WPG2 paths page, but when I tried the auto-validate, it would give the error-message.
So I was creating a screen-shot for that, end then a screenshot after the manual validate. And guess what... the manual validate did work.

stupid stupid me.

But thanks for the help! I knew it must have been something easy to fix.
You could work on that auto-validate-script though :p

Glad it's working! :)

The auto validate does not work on all servers because of some backend configuration choices made by different hosting services. Basically, if your hosting service has their PHP set up so that it returns a 404 on an internal GET from WordPress to Gallery2, the auto validation just won't work, no matter what we do. We've worked hard to make it work on most hosting services, but for the ones that it fails on, we've included the manual paths option.
