G2image works fine; wpg2 shows thumbnail rather than fullsize

Hey All,

I've got an issue where g2image and wpg2 are working just fine except for one thing.

I'm using wpg2 tags - and the tags contain the serial number of the picture as expected; however when the pics pop up they always show the thumbnail rather than fullsize.

I've done some digging and it looks like g2 creates multiple versions of a pic; thumbnail, resize etc.

wpg2 looks like it's always picking up the thumbnail.

Any ideas? Is this something with my g2 config or with wpg2?

In the editor when you insert the image there is a popup box that displays your gallery. Look for the line that says wpg2tags. Click on it and it will drop down so you can choose a different insert display option.

Just to follow up on trbailey post, change the image size in the g2image selector and you will get an image greater than then thumbnail.

I have the same problem. Whatever I select in listbox in g2image, it always inserts the <wpg2>21</wpg2> tag. I manually tried adding size="300", but that didn't help. I can increase the image size in the WPG2 tags tab, but then all my thumbnails become bigger and it uses the full sized original file. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If you are using a resized image, the G2 image tool will insert a tag like <wpg2>21|300</wpg2>, if your tag is not being inserted like that, then you have not specified a image size..

If you don't have a textbox in G2Image for adding the size to the WPG2 tags, then you're using an old version of the G2 ImageBlock module, and you'll have a warning on the WPG2 validation page about it. If you're not sure about the box we're talking about, see the demo page in my signature block and try G2Image there. It definitely has the textbox for adding the WPG2 size option.

This is quite stupid, I shouldn't be testing these things late at night. I completely missed the insert button halfway the popup page. I think I only used the top one (for the link to the album). Thanks for your help and this great plugin.

No problems :) For the Record we do not allow resized album images due to a bug in Gallery2 2.2 (which has been fixed in Gallery2 2.3).
