horizontal sidebar for matrixlightbox theme

Hi Everyone,
I have modified the sidebar of the matrixlightbox theme so that it appears over the gallery. The only information that I want showing is the album name and the drop down link menu. The problem I am having is that these items are not as close to the top of the gallery as possible, there seems to be a gap. Is there a way to modify this?
