Mambo

I am trying to intergrate:
Mambo version: 4.6.2
Gallery version: 2.2.3

I was looking at:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery1:Embedding

I was getting confused because I could not find contrib. I finally noticed (right before I made this post) that the original directions were ment for Gallery1.

So it seems that in order to integrate it is now required to download the Gallery2 Bridge from:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/gallery2_bridge/frs/

How is this bridge installed? Is there anything specific that I have to do for Mambo, as this is actually written for Joomla?

This seems like a step backwards. What happened to the nice built in integration that existed in Gallery1?
