Hello,

I'm totally new to this website and most of all as a user of gallery2 ! I have a couple problems or questions after installing Gallery, I hope I can get help from here, as I've read through all the documentation I could find online...

I would like to have, on top of my "menu" / albums page, the list (and links) to the last 2 or 3 albums I uploaded...

My page is a concerts pictures gallery (see first draft here : http://livepics.free.fr/gallery2/)

One album for each concert.
I would like to advertize the latest additions on top of that page, for people who come often to see what's new since the last few months.

I see 2 solutions to achieve that, do you know if any module or anything could help ?

OPTION 1 : automatic detection of last uploaded material, and link to the album.

OPTION 2 : a module where I can select the albums I want to "advertize" and have them appear on top of the page (I could select every new album myself after I upload them).

Any idea how I can do that ?

Thank you for your much needed help.

PS : as for the information below, sorry I'm not currently on my own computer and can't access this data.

OK, now I just don't get it...
What's the point for those two posts ?
There's a link to something I don't even understand in the FAQ (I'm a complete beginner at gallery, and most of all i don't know anything about developping and stuff...), and there's a picture that belongs to my "older" gallery attached...

Yeah ?...

Anyways, anybody, any help ?

Floridave, you rock, thanx for your help.

I've been trying to figure out those modules, and the newitems module should do the trick !

Problem is : I've got a URL which leads to the "new items" page I set up.
But how can I have this page "at the top" of my regular index page ?

Menu of my gallery would be :
- list of last 3 albums (for instance)
- regular album menu page (right below)

How can do that ? I'm not a developer at all, but I can do some html (in php pages if needed).

I don't understand what you man by menu.
You can add a link item as the first album to the last 3 albums.

I'm sorry, I don't speak English well enough.

What I would like would be a page built a bit like this one :
http://www.desert-rock.com/gallery/

It has the last 3 albums on top of the page, then right below, the list of all other albums available in the gallery (including those 3 albums, too, as a matter of fact).

What I have with the "new items" is a remote page with as many new albums I want. My goal would be to have this information as part of another page, not a remote one with a link...
