unable to upload - garble characters in upload page.

wired. I've just changed hosting company and re-installed gallery. when trying to upload some pics; after designating the files and click on upload, a pop-up windows opens and it is filled with characters like this:

Have you turned on debug mode and followed it's progress?
It looks like its maybe dumping the binary image data into the window
which is odd.

yes I did follow debug mode but nothing special there (I think).
Now I re-install netPBM and the pictures are uploaded but I Still get the binary dump on the progress page.

anyone has an idea??

PS: I'm on freebsd.
PS2: there's no errors when checking everything from setup pages.
