GR places image filenames in the 'caption' field

As far as I can tell, GR places image filenames in the 'caption' field by default. This makes sense for organization for some people I am sure, but for me, many of my image filenames are ugly. Can I stop this behavior somehow?
I don't want to hide captions on the web gallery entirely, there are places that I have captions I want to keep, I just specifically don't want anything automatically put in to the 'caption' field after I click 'Add Pictures' when using GR.

Yes, this is optional behavior. You can change this preference by editing the preference file. See how in the ReadMe.html.
