:D Well impressed so far. I set up an old pentium with the smallest
slackware configuation I could get away with.

Failed badly with perlmagick, then tried 'Gallery' last night. After a frantic
struggle with missing X libraries, and a few other problems with my minimal environment it all worked!

It all looks quite good so far. I have one problem tho, my BT DSL link absolutely refuses to let me log into my own http server by looping back through the internet. That means percersely I can't use the web based manager to upload pictures from my own machine. Any one else have this problem? If I log directly into my web server using local IPs all the links still use the www... address so I don't win there.

Oddly it appears only port 80 has this loopback disabled, I can SSH to myself through the internet.. Oh well I'll work something out in the end.
In the mean time I'll hunt thru the archives to see if there is some way I can scp the files into an album and generate the database the hard way.

cheers all,
Phil

Becket is big on fixing this. Click on search above, and look for Beckett as author and "relative AND paths" in the text. You should be able to sort it out by editing config.php by hand.

And, we also have FAQ C.22 that deals with this.

Thanks for the quick reply. I can't beleive I missed it in the FAQ,
I must have been through it 3 or 4 times while installing. Mind you
I was running out of time to get some sleep.
