Using update file 2.2.2 to 2.2.4 - How to Replace only changed files ? - Upgrading Help

Hi,

I want to install Gallery2 in my website. The Fantastico script can install Gallery 2.2.2 version. So i decided to install 2.2.2 version and then upgrade to latest stable release 2.2.4 using update file (2.2.2 to 2.2.4).

But i am little bit confusing, How to Replace only changed files ? - For example, Fantastico will install Gallery2 to www.yourdomain.com/gallery folder. I downloaded the update file.

The update file contains several "changed-files-xxx" files in zip format.

* Where i can replace the older files with these new files ?
* Is it requires to unzip every files to specified older modules ?

I request, Please tell " How i can upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.2.4 " ?
Note that i use Fantastico to install Gallery2 (2.2.2) in the directory named http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery

you need to FTP Core Modules files and Main.php, Manifest
then run ur gallery.
it will automatically goto upgrade.
after that u can upgrade rest of modules from site admin->plugins area.

I will explain clearly:

My Gallery2(version 2.2.2) is installed on http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery folder. I want to upgrade galley from 2.2.2 to 2.2.4.

I downloaded the upgrade file and unzip the file to a temp directory and placed on Desktop.

* Can i upload the upgrade files to directly http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery folder ?
* Then i need to run web based upgrader ? But the upgrader identifies it still version 2.2.2 !
* Is it necessary to replace old files ? If then where i can replace ?
