Album tree customization issues

I have G2 installed on my site. Within the album tree module, I would like the album tree to expand to show items in that gallery (sub-galleries) when you click on the name of that album, not just the + symbol. Also, I would like that album to stay open/expanded when you are within sub-albums as well. It seems like a pretty symbol concept but my javascript and php knowledge are limited. I did a few searches on the forums but can't find anyone who actually got it working. Thanks in advance!
