Hi, I am using Joomla 1.5.0 Stable, Gallery2 2.2.4, G2Bridge 2.0.14 and G2Image 3.0.2. When I add a gallery2 image the thumbnail will be displayed in the joomla editor. When I save the article with the gallery2 image the thumbnail will not be displayed. The link to the gallery2 image is working fine only the thumbnail is not displayed. I read through this forum but could not find a suitable solution. Here you can see an example. Regards |

Hi. Sorry for the delay. Life has gotten in the way of G2Image the past few weeks...
It sounds like maybe a permissions issue. Did you set any user permissions on the album or the photos in it?

Hi Kirk,
I checked the permissions again but I cannot find a issue. I attached a doc in oder to make the problem clearer.

P.S. the lin above is not working. Just use http://www.muellerdirk.com

Dirk,
Which editor are you using? It looks like maybe the built-in TinyMCE. (This doesn't really matter, but you'll need to know where to look during the troubleshooting that follows.)
The editor is stripping a question mark, '?', when you hit "Save". If you look at the page source, you can see that the image source is src="http://www.muellerdirk.com/gallery2/main.phpg2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2475", which is missing the ? between php and g2_. Since the thumbnail is visible when G2Image inserts it, G2Image is working correctly, but the editor is not.
What's really confusing is that the link to the Gallery2 page works correctly and its ? is there: href="/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2474"
You might try a different editor, like JCE (or TinyMCE, if you're using JCE) to see if it does the same thing.

Hi Kirk,
I am using the built in TinyMCE (2.1). At the moment JCE is not yet available for Joomla 1.5 stable. Any options?

In the editor the link is correct. See screenshot.

Dirk,
Take a look at these pages on the TinyMCE Wiki:
http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/convert_urls
http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/relative_urls
http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/remove_script_host
http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/document_base_url
These pages describe the settings TinyMCE uses to decide how it will "clean up" URLs. (I prefer to think of it as "mess up" URLs.)
This weekend was a heavy Scouting weekend at our house, so I didn't get around to setting my Joomla testbed back up, but if you look around your TinyMCE files, you'll find where these are set. Probably a file called tinymce.init. I'd try setting convert_urls and relative_urls to false.
I hope that works. Please let me know how it goes.
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
I've gone through the articles but I wasn't able to solve the problem. The tinyMCE.init is located in the tinymce.php from line 574. Could be vary as I added some new lines for your plugin. There is no parameter convert_urls or something else. I added it manually but the problem still persists. The relative_urls parameter can be set in the plugin setting from the backend. Its set to absolute. remove_script_host is set to false and document_base_url is \"". JURI::root() ."\",

Hi Kirk,
I've waited for JCE 1.5. Now JCE 1.5.5 beta 2 is available but I cannot install G2image. Can you help?
Best regards

Sorry for the delay. See reply for JCE 1.5.0 in this node.
