Hello,

Totally new to all this so forgive me if this is a simple fix. I have Gallery 2 embedded into my website which is powered by Wordpress. I have put in two thumbnails at the top of the post below as a test. I clicked on the option that said "thumbnail with link to image (HTML)" is this the right option if I want to be able to click on the thumbnail and have it go to the full size image in the gallery? If so, can someone tell me why it is not working and what I have done wrong? Thank you

travelbug2007,

It looks like you have a few issues, your WPG2 page is not redirecting (and it is not 404'ing) which tends to be caused by another conflicting Wordpress Plugin, please try to turn off the other Wordpress plugins and see if the wpg2 page works for you.

Then we can look at what links you want etc..

Hello,

I have the following plug ins
Akismet
Google Sitemaps
Optimal Title
Wordpress.com Stats
WP-FileManager
WP-Sticy
and of course the WPG2

I took turns de-activating each one, refreshing my browser and then clicking on those thumbnails on the above mentioned post in my blog. They did not work with any of the plug ins de-activated.

What would be the next step to find out what is causing the problem?

I have had my brother try and help me fix this problem, but he has limited knowledge of the program. He has tried a few things and has told me to add this to my post in hopes it will help someone resolve the issue.

WPG2 Paths options, the "URL to WPG2 Output:" is blank

Enabled permalinks plugin, and enabled it in URL Rewrite

This error occured when trying to make a change in the URL Rewrite module:

Error (ERROR_PERMISSION_DENIED)

* in modules/core/classes/GalleryController.class at line 147 (GalleryCoreApi::error)
* in main.php at line 189 (GalleryController::loadController)
* in main.php at line 94
* in main.php at line 83

Hope that helps,
Thank you

I am going to work from the assumption something has gone wrong with the wpg2 files, because the behaviour you are posting is very odd. Deactivate the WPG2 plugin, remove all the files in the WPG2 directory and reupload the WPG2 files again and try to reactivate the plugin..

Something is very broken in your WP installation right now..

Hi there,

Thank you for all the help so far. Doesn't seem like that fixed the problem either. Would it fix everything if the WPG2 Plugin and Gallery were totally removed and then re-installed?

No I suspect it is more a Wordpress issue since your Wordpress installation is not obeying the Template Redirect or some very odd Host Environment. You can try setting up a test Wordpress Install and try the WPG2 on that to see if it corrects this issue..

Hello ozgreg,

Thank you for all the help. This is all over my head, thank goodness my brother is computer savvy and has helped me through this. The WPG2 plugin is working on my site now. I am now faced with what seems to be a common problem, my theme makes the gallery have a strange layout. I think it will be easiest for me to just use the stand alone gallery with the plugin. I could only find an old thread with instructions on how to do this. I looked at the screenshot of what to type in, but it doesn't appear to match what I have. Are there updated instructions for the lastest versions?

Thank you

Wordpress Dashboard -> WPG2 -> WPG2 Output -> Select WPG2 Output via Standalone Gallery2 Page
