Site Admin Link Vanished

Hi There:
I've been doing a bit of upgrading today. I've upgraded to the latest versions of Wordpress and Gallery 2, and have decided to also upgrade a few plugins along the way. I've been using the beta version of WP2G v.3, and have upgraded to the current version. Things worked smoothly, for the most part.

But after clicking the added WP2G link that appeared on my sidebar (it was automatically generated as a WP page), I noticed that the site admin link is unavailable. Even when I start to go deep into the album, it still will not appear.

Any thoughts as to how I should proceed? Thanks so much.

Velanche

Hiya urbanl,

Please verify your Wordpress account has G2 Admin Rights by visiting the Gallery2 Users Tab under Dashboard -> Users -> Gallery2 Users and verify that account belongs to the Wordpress Users with Gallery2 Admin Accounts Group..

Thanks for the reply, Ozgreg; good to see that you are keeping this plugin going.

I have verified that admin rights are enabled to me as an administrator; no change since the previous posting.

Also, I'm trying to figure out if it may have to do with the .htaccess file and the URL rewrite that's part of the file. I tried taking out the code and switching on the URL Rewrite module in Gallery's admin area. It activates, bu then when I go to check in the Rewrite tab of WP2G in the WP admin, it somehow can't find the URL Rewrite module. When I return to Gallery's site admin, the URL Rewrite module reverts to an X as if nothing happened. I can live with this since Gallery seems to be working properly, but I'd rather clean this up and use "pretty" permanlinks.

Right now, the Site Admin issue is priority. But if you can offer guidance on both then feel free. Thanks again.
V.

I never seen loss of G2 Admin Rights due to the Gallery2 Rewrites being activated.. It is possible what is happening is you still have a Gallery2 (Standalone) Session active which is causing the issue. When you visit your Gallery2 (Directly) Are you still logged in? If so, please log out and instead access your Gallery2 installation via the Wordpress WPG2 Page..

Hi Ozgreg:
I will give your suggestion a try soon.

Where about can I find the email address for the developer? I've found something the other day and I'd like to share it with him/her/them.

I'll continue to deal with things later this week.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I do not see "logout" and "administration" links in the top right menu. In contrary it allows me to "login" again but it does not tell me about the fact that I have entered wrong credentials.

I just deleted all cookies and then logged in again - it worked for me. I think that was the problem.
