Can't send email - no new registrations as well as no test email

Hi everybody

I've got a question to you out there. I'm sure, someone's out there to help me ;-)
My problem is, that I cannot send emails from my Gallery2. I have configured new registrations to be confirmed by administrator. But now a new user gets this error message:

After that, I can find the new user in my administration menu under "User registration" as a registration to be confirmed. But neither I nor the new user get a mail.

When I - on the global settings page - try to send a test email I always get the following error message. It doesn't matter if I try with PHP or SMTP mail:

Obviously there are some errors in different files. But I don't really believe that. I haven't changed these files, they're still in original version. Even if I would believe that, I'd still don't know, what's wrong.

I hope, there's anyone out there who can help me. I would be very glad!
