Hi,

My webhosting company recently upgraded to PHP 5 and now gallery isn't working. I am trying to upgrade to 1.5.7 but I am getting "Error: Your userfile is not writeable." when I try to run the config.

I have made my albums dir (and everything in it) all 777 as per http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery1:FAQ#Error:_Your_Userfile_is_not_writeable and my .htaccess and config.php file are both 777 and setup/ is 755 as per http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery1:Upgrading

Can anyone please help me with this problem?

Should I copy my back up of my gallery/ back over and restart again?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hello Lisa,

the users folder is a hidden folder inside the albums dir. Its called ".users".
Maybe you do not see it and this not chmod it.
If this is the case, make your ftp client show hidden files and folders.

Jens

P.S.: Sorry for my terrible english. I am just a german ;-)
