Problem with FLV video

I have 2 installations of G2, one is standalone with photos of my newborn son (http://www.richeyweb.com/gallery) and another which is integrated with J! and CB. (to avoid confusion, I have placed photos and videos of my son in both galleries for testing of the hiredcamera.com website, the one listed above is only for my son) Here's the rub, and I don't understand because the two galleries behave differently. my sons gallery (richeyweb.com) has a few flash videos, and they work perfectly. Registered, unregistered, logged in or not, the videos play. I have no issues with the operation of this gallery, and it functions as expected. The J!+CB embedded gallery only shows thumbnails on the FLV videos for users who are not logged in! As soon as I log in with any valid user, the video player is loaded and the video can be viewed, but if the user isn't logged in (or has chosen to view as "Guest") only the video thumbnail is displayed. Here's an example from my embedded installation: Browsing the website as Guest or logged out, one may arrive at the FLV video at the following address. http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=1178 For logged in users, the URL is different and the video is playable If I switch to guest mode using the link at the bottom of the matrix template, I get this URL and the video is not playable: If I navigate away from this video (still as guest user) and navigate back, my URL is (same as above ending in g2_itemId=1178): http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=1178 Am I doing something wrong? Is there a configuration that I messed up? has anyone seen this before? |

Do you have cart enabled in both? It sets permissions for views.
Check your permissions. This is not a flashvideo issue.

I have cart enabled.
I have attempted with and without SEF enabled.
This boggles.
Further testing reveals that this is only occurring on a single flv video. Of the 4 I have in the gallery, the one mentioned above is the only one to behave this way. I have re-encoded and re-uploaded the video with no change in its behavior.
EUREKA! well....at least yeehaw I have two scenarios that work!
It seems that if the video resides in the a first subfolder of the gallery (or in the gallery root) the video player is displayed for FLV videos, however, if the FLV resides in a second subfolder (or deeper, I assume) the video player is not displayed.
Some examples:
These work:
In first subfolder (Photographers): http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=1212
In first subfolder (temporary album): http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=98
These don't work:
In second subfolder (Photographers/Michael): http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=1209
In second subfolder (Photographers/Karen): http://www.hiredcamera.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,35/?g2_itemId=1200
So anyway, I'm now certain that there is an issue beyond my configuration.
By the way, thanks for the quick response to my previous message.

I'm certain its a permissions issue.
Check each album , try:
Everybody [core] View all versions
