Hi Jens,
As I succeeded in getting 1.6-svn up and working, now I would like to add pictures to it.
Strange again : I can upload as many as I want -tried the different methods - but there are no thumbnails installed for the pictures. Pictures are there, but only with a remark "No thumbnail"
Any idea why this is ?
Happy Easter,
Michel

Which version/build did you install exactly?

Programming is like evolution in nature.
Every time you try to make a program more fool-proof, they will evolve into better fools.

Hello again.
I thought perhaps you want to see for yourself what goes wrong - if it's not good old Murphy screwing things up.
I have created an administrator user for you in the album.
If you send me a personal e-mail address, I will send you the name and password.

Hello Michel,
you still say that your server runs on Windows. If i remember correctly your server is a Linux Server?
Please enable debugging and upload a photo via the form method. Post the output here.
I tested on my installation and it works fine with Netpbm.

I found out what's wrong. Netpbm didn't get installed, nor was ImageMagick.
As I said before, I'm just a simple to mediocre user and I supposed one of those would have been installed when I did set up Gallery. At least the configuration wizard didn't complain, so I thought everything is OK.
I went looking and found them on the Gallery site, but they both seem to be only available for Gallery 2.
Then I looked at "how to install them" and "Holy Smoke !!! " Is that something to impose on an every day user ? It does confirm what I said before : Gallery is only something for advanced users or gurus.
Setting up Gallery is already something, but now it becomes really complicated.
Perhaps one day I may become a guru, but I don't have the time right now to go trough all that stuff one has to read first - and try to understand for that matter.
Still, I do like Gallery and I will try to get it fully working. Only, I would have liked my albums to be online sooner.
I have some hours left today. I'll have another go at it.
Cheers !
Michel

Hello,
The config wizard did not complain?! Unbelievable.
You entered a path to Netpbm (e.g. /usr/local/bin), but there is NO Netpbm?
And then the wizard passed okay?
VERY strange. Never seen that before.
And i am not able to reproduce this.
