Here's my problem: I've just installed the latest versions of Gallery 2 and Wordpress, as well as WPG2 plugin to seamlessly combine G2 with WP. No errors during installation. BUT: when I press the menu item WPG2 on my WP page I don't see my Gallery2 content, but a boring "Parent Directory Page". It's the same page like those which you can find when you search Google for "WPG2 Parent Directory". Where could I have gone wrong? Thanks for any advices! (I posted this yesterday in the German forum where I received a kind reply - but no solution so far.) |

Have you already configured the wpg2 plugin from the wordpress admin page? Does the WPG2 path status indicate that it is valid? There is also a link to the embedded gallery page from the WPG2 admin page. Does this work? Let me know if you need more info on where to find these.

I think I have configured everything right. At least I don't get any error messages. When I go to the WPG2 page on WP it says: "WPG2 Validation Check: Valid". Everything is marked green. But a click on "View Page" right beside it only opens the "parent directory page" mentioned above.
On the WPG2 paths page it says: "WPG2 Paths Status: Valid". Again, everything is marked green.
Gallery2 URL -> http://www.mydomain.de/G2/ (I use "mydomain" as a substitute for the real name)
URL to WPG2 Output -> http://www.mydomain.de/WP/wpg2 (letters inverse)
Gallery2 File Path -> /var/www/myusername/html/G2/
On Gallery Error Redirect to -> http://www.mydomain.de/WP/index.php
The "Gallery2 Rewrite Module: Validation Checklist" looks fine, too.
On WPG2 output I have activated "WPG2 Output via Wordpress Page". Otherwise I don't get a WPG2 link on my WP front page.
So, that's the case. No error message anywhere, but no Gallery page showing up in WP either ...
Do have any further suggestions?

I only seen this once when I had a directory in my Wordpress root directory called WPG2. Apache processes directories first thus why you see parent directory page rather than the WPG2 Page..

Aahhh! For some reason I had created a directory called wpg2 with write permissons. I've deleted it now and it works. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

No issues, I remember thinking WTF when it happened to me at the time
