Just wanted to quickly post a few things I've found after upgrading from a very old version 2.0 of the wpg2 plugin to version 3.x. After deleting the old files, wp-gallery2.php and removing illegal calls to g2_imageframes() from my general header i validated successfully but like many people found a blank background awaiting me at /wpg2. Coming from the era of wp-gallery2.php, it took me a little while to realise that wpg2 was in fact a wordpress page and that it had replaced wp-gallery2.php. In fact I found no immediate direct wording to that effect in the basic instructions. Once I realised this and hacked through a few things I found that my blog/wpg2 page was giving a blank result, though gallery 2 performed fine standalone. I ruled out the php memory limit and was scratching around when I thought to try a different template. Low and behold the plugin embedded gallery nicely in the classic plugin and a few other simple ones but didn't in my custom one. However after running it through these plugins, deleting the cache and template cache in gallery 2 maintenance, it then worked fine and I'm now a happy bunny! I didn't initially realise that there were so many other parts to the wpg2 documents as the links at the bottom of the 'basic installation' page are few. Each of the 12 or so pages in the following docs are quite short and to be honest I'd much rather appreciate them all on one page of comprehensive instructions, hyperlinked at the top. Personally I'm really impressed with the level of commitment and coding that has gone into wpg2 and by the amount of flexibity that has been programmed into it. Well done and I hope my experience and suggestions help alittle. Stephen ---------- |

WPG2 Documentation is designed around two concepts..
A) to allow linking from the various WPG2 Options (thus why the options are in so many parts..)
B) Separated into Operations (Which covers WPG2 Plugin day to day operation) and Options (for those tweaks) for help speed up reference..
I really want to spend more time documenting the WPG2 plugin but anytime I put aside to do this generally gets taken up by real life.. The Documentation is on a WIKI and I always welcome anyone wanting to add to it because I never get the time to add to it
Thanks for your kind comments..

Thanks rideforever! I had been struggling for an hour now with what you mentioned. I switched themes back and forth and that pretty much did the trick. I was getting the blank page and trying every option in the book (book?) but nothing. Then I switched themes, switched back and voila! Thanks for posting.
