Import Photos From Camera,Scaner or any other External Device ?

hello,
I am new to gallery and PHP as well,though i have installed gallery 2 on my windows OS.
do any body have any idea how do i can manage adding/importing photos to an album by external device (camera,scanner,scanfilm etc), is there any plug in for these > or how can i do that ? please help me,your help will be greatly appreciated
