Hey,
Well like a new user when I got the urge to build my linux box I backuped everything but my mysql database.... so I'm hosed there.
Is there anyway to rebuild the database from the pictures and images that are already on the drive? Or from the gallery installation directory? If it is meta or cached information somewhere...
If not what is the best way to recreate the database without having to point to each directory and adding it one by one... there are quiet a few of them, like 120 dirs and over 12,000 pics.
Info:
RedHat Linux 7.3
running on a noname p4 2.0gz 1.5gb mem
Gallery 1.3.1-cvs-b10
Apache 1.3.dev
PHP 4.2.0
mysql 3.23.49
Using Opera 6.03 from the same system to access
Thanks.

Gallery doesn't use MySQL, it uses flat files. Can you tell us exactly what the problem is?

I thought that's where all of the information about the userid/pw and album information was kept?
Ok, I'm being stupid again... it was my php.ini Memory size at 8M.... I passed that value on the second day.. anyone have any consensus on what it should be? I have it set to 64M right now.

I keep mine at 8M on my site (3300 photos, high volume) without problems. My photos are on the same box as this website, which gets about 5M hits/1.5M page views a month and haven't had problems. I average about 10 httpd processes each using about 30Mb of memory.
