Where can I download the latest checkout module (cannot find this file anymore in the checkout forum or somewhere else). I am not able to download / install the latest checkout module(s) using the respository on different installations.

Which chmod do the checkout folders (and files) need? Is it enough to have the module folder chmoded with 755 and will the checkout folders be chmoded 755 then, also? Or have I to chmod all checkout sub folders and files to 755 or 777 (for testing I have chmodes 777 all)?

Are the versions shown on the screeshot the newest ones?

Nice greetings, Dirk.

Hi Dirk

The latest versions of checkout are in the repository. New releases don't necessarily update the version number - you have to go to the get more plugins page, update the plugin list and see what's listed next to each module. If it says "modify" then you're up to date, if it says "upgrade" then you should upgrade. The current information for the checkout module in the repository is version 0.3.3 (build 1419) which is an update to the 0.3.3_beta last posted in the forum thread 74849.

If there are significant fixes in the existing code I will post a new thread to alert anyone who's interested. For minor fixes I will update the code without generating noise on the forum. New features will involve a version number bump, and I will post beta code for testing on the forum before upgrading the repository.

Regarding your current problem: there are no special permissions requirements for checkout over and above any other gallery module installed through the repository. I would have thought 777 througout would be fine though, as that's all permissions to all users. What is the error message that you're getting? And what makes you suspect a permissions problem?

Thank you very much for your help, alecmyers,

Okay, good to know, so I have the newest versions of checkout now.

My current problem is disappeared obviously: I cannot reconstruct / spot out what happened exactly. I mean to have changed, respectively have tried to change a few times the chmod settings with FileZilla but they have been stayed as they have been (with another program it worked) as I saw later on; further on I have changed the chown settings, cleared the lib/support cache. Finally I changed the browser and the problem seems to be solved and I noticed that Firefox seems to have caused the error (though pressing "Strg and F5" a few times during testing (you must re-start Firefox (after clearing its cache)))…or I myself…don’t really know. All checkout* folders and their sub folders should be chmoded with 777 on my system now, I hope this does not cause a loss of security.

This was one of the error messages not being displayed anymore:

By the way, is the comma bug mentioned on the “Checkout eCommerce Settings” page, “Change language to English because of a comma bug” still existing?

Many thanks for your help, Dirk.

Hi Dirk,

The difficulty with tracking upgrade problems is that sometimes they only occur once... by the time you've seen the error, the code has already been downloaded and the problem disappears. The error message you posted is from the checkoutemail code, although I'm not sure how this occured exactly I suspect it would have been because you refreshed the page (shift-F5) during the upgrade process which can cause errors.

As far as I am aware, the comma problem is fixed - checkout should use the user's locale setting when determining whether to display currency decimals with , or . separators. Note that prices have to be entered with the decimal point regardless of locale. If you are upgrading though please make sure to visit the admin page and save changes, or otherwise make sure that the currency formatting string field contains "%.2f" (it will be inserted automatically when you save the page contents if it's left blank by the user.)

Hallo alecmyers,

Okay, in any case I will be a bit more careful in using this short cut.

Very good, so I can confidently ignore this message about the comma bug in my live production website setting up / configuring during the next days.

Where / how can I replace best the English words / phrases of "checkout" with German ones, in the e-mails, also? I have red the translations / the text is stored in the "po" files or so. If I see right, there is no (completely done) German translation available.

Thank you again for your help, Dirk.

Are you volunteering to finish the German translation? :-) That would be great if so! PM me your email address and I'll send you the po files that need translating, then we can add them in to the module.

Oops, I should not only be more careful with using short cuts, but also with asking the right questions...

...the e-mail is on its way...

Nice greetings, Dirk.
