User information stored in MySQL database

I was wondering if it's possible to take a viewers inputed information (through some type of form) and divert the necessary information to two places; 1) a MySQL database for a directory and 2) into the Gallery database. I have no idea where to start. I know a bit of PHP, MySQL, and Java. Thanks in advance for any help.
