'Contributor' rather than 'Owner'

This really is such a little thing but I am having real trouble digging through the files. I am using the Matrix theme and underneath each image there is a caption: 'Owner: ' + the id of the person who submitted the image. I want to change this to: 'Contributor:'. Have tried the various templates in the theme, have Grepped all of the 'Owner:' strings on the site and modified 'msgstr' in various locations but still failed to make any difference to the caption. Would really appreciate any guidance on where I can make this change.
