[WPG2] - Inconsist Results between Browsers

I'm wondering if there are common places to look for fixes related to inconsistent viewing results between browsers?

I have 2 main issues:

1st Issue
I add images to my posts via WPG2. When I view the blog with Firefox (3.0) the images are visible. When I view them with IE (6.0) the images links are broken. I get a box with the image name and a red 'X'.

2nd Issue
I also use the Google maps module with G2. I have a WP page with an embedded Google map. WPG2 is supposed to handle logging WP users into G2. All users are subscribers & all subscribers have G2 capability. In Firefox the map does not resolve, but instead asks me to login. In IE the map resolves.

NOTE
To make this even more confusing a friend tried to hit the site using Firefox and got broken photo links and got the log in prompt when trying to view the map.

I've cleared caches and cookies for both browsers. I've cleared the Gallery2 caches via www.mydomain.com/gallery2/lib/support/. I also have Lightbox support disabled.

CONFIGURATION DETAILS
My webhost is Bluehost.com.

Here's are my versions:

Gallery version = 2.2.4 core 1.2.0.6
Webserver = Apache/2.2.8
PHP version = 5.2.6 cgi-fcgi
Database = mysqlt 5.0.45I

Because my blog is a private blog (protected by Angsuman's Authenticated plug-in) I'm not posting the URL here.

Since this seems to me to be a WPG2 issue I'm posting here. I'll understand if you relocate my post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hiya mbeazley,

The fact that you can see photos in one browser and not the other points to a local environment issues not a WPG2 issue, however without a link to your website I cannot verify if the URL's being generated are correct or not..

Sorry

Thanks for the input! So the plot thickens. I noticed that in IE the album tree was missing when I tried to add a photo to a post via G2image. Checking into this I learned that G2image is a Java function. Since it was working in Firefox but not IE I decided I'd try to make sure Java was working OK in IE. After updating Java the album tree appeared, and [i]I was able to add images via G2image.

I went through my blog posts and reinserted my images via G2image using IE. When I had finished everything appeared just fine in IE, but ALL OF THE PHOTO LINKS ARE BLANK IN FIREFOX. GRRRRR!!!! I quit for the night at that point.

This morning my site looks perfect in IE, but not in FF. However, G2image IS NOT WORKING in either browser. I'm stuck.

I updated my G2 plug-ins, including Imageblock. After doing this post images load and G2image shows the album tree ONLY AFTER I have gone to my WPG2 embedded page. This action seems to authenticate the user in G2. Don't know why this is necessary. Need to find a fix. Any chance that my authentication issues are tied to using Angsuman's Authenticated plug-in?

Deactivated Angsuman's Authenticated plug-in. Results were the same as before.

mbeazley,

What you are describing actually does not make any sense, I never seen this kind of behaviour issue before to me it is pretty clear something in your environment is blocking the images / JS.

Unfortunately without any blog links I cannot see this behaviour first hand..
