Custom fields: assigning a value to a large amount of pictures (in one click)

We are installing a Gallery2 to manage a large amount of pix of the museum of the city of Badalona, near Barcelona.

It would be very useful to massively assign the value of a custom field to all elements inside an album.

For example: working with an album with 500 pictures inside and, in a simple manner, fixing the value of the custom field "grant date" with a specific date, for all the 500 pictures.

Then, these photographs will be moved to a larger album, so it's not possible to assign the custom field "date of donation" to the album. It must be assigned to the pictures (or maybe to "common fields").

It can be done? If not, there is some user module doing something similar?
