I apologize if this has been touched on before, however, I have been unable to find any post that solve this problem.
I am using the latest release of Gallery with the postcard hack using the text database. Gallery is set up within it's own folder on my site. All seems to be working well until I click the link "create and send a custom postcard". This link leads to a 404 error. I am sure I am missing something simple, and appreciate any help with this matter.
Sample 404 Page:
http://www.redwebz.org/gallery/gallery_cards_send.php?photo_name=http://www.redwebz.org/albums/People-and-Animals/companion.jpg (This looks very long, should it include complete URL?)
My Gallery Version: 1.34
My gallery URL: http://redwebz.org/gallery
My Apache Version: 1.3.27 (Unix)
My PHP Version: 4.3.2
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMajik, I believe, but unsure, that part is working fine
My Operating System: Windows 98SE
My Web Browser:IE 6.0.2800.1106CO
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

This patch is not a part of Gallery proper. Moving to Customization....

You will NEED to setup mySQL DB to get it work, that how I did

I do not wish to pay for an extra database, that is why I chose to use the text db offered here within the forums and searches on gallery.Anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution? If not, I will need to seek an alternative, since postcards are my main reason for wanting a program such as this.....

josephp is wrong.
I used this mod on Gallery 1.3.3 or some cvs without using mySQL and it worked fine. However, when I upgraded to 1.3.4 I deleted all the postcard stuff because it wasn't used enough and it has no added value for my Gallery.
Anyway, your getting a 404 error because gallery_cards_send.php doesn't exist in your Gallery (or has the wrong permissions). You'd better check if you have all the necessary files uploaded.

D, hey! be cool. If that patch isn't what you want, fair enough - but please be nice about it. Someone went to some trouble to make it available for you.
Anyway, today is your lucky day, because just a couple of days ago Vallimar, a noted gallery dude released a eCard patch that doesn't require MySQL. You can read all about it, here. Make sure you download the 1.3.5 b54 release to patch against.

It looks like Vallimar has done it again. I recommend his patch as it contains the same functionality as the mentioned mod, with better integration.
By done it again I'm referring to the fact that after people (including me) had been hacking together a self-registration patch he created the ruling version, fairly secure with tight integration into Gallery.
Off topic: both patches should be part of 1.3.5 if possible.
One more remark. joan, calm down, the patch was okay, I just wanted to get back to Gallery proper as much as possible to have an easier upgrade path for one of my Galleries.

Borgking, that wasn't for you! I just didn't refresh the page before posting. It was directed at D.

Thanks for the assistance. I will check out the link that you referred, Joan.
On the other hand, please e-read my post, I did not think I was being rude, just saying that if I could not get this to work, I would need to seek something else. You know, if the first pair of shoes don't fit, you go to another size or style. No offense was intended, and I really did not feel it came off that way, I was just looking for an answer. I am aware that someone worked hard to create the hack, never said a bad word about it or gallery, just that without the postcard feature, it doesn't meet the need I have. I wasn't referring so much to the hack as to the entire project that I started. You guys are too tense, maybe you need to relax.

Joan didn't mention this, but a tiny bug (typo really) slipped into my original patch, which has since been corrected, so make sure you download it from the URL and not use the attachment. I had to correct the URL's in the email that was sent out as they were displaying incorrectly.
Also, be sure to thank Muggles who did all the initial work. I took his textdb version and applied large amounts of grease to make it integrate into Gallery better.
And as my email states, I did no testing on embedded installations, so if someone wants to test and post the results, feel free.
