Links to home site in the header

Hi all,

I am using gallery2 ver 2.2.5
Theme is "Matrix"

I am not a coder but am familiar with scripting and html. However, I am new to gallery2 software and file hierarchy.

I am having difficulty with adding links back to my home site, bulletin board and chat room in the header (or anywhere else for that matter).

I do not have a the plugin "linksinhead" so I do not have a "link" button in the "extra data" field in the admin tool.
I followed the instructions to "get more plugins" but none appear.

I also do not have a "global.tpl" file to edit and all attempts to edit the template.tpl have not produced a viable link - anywhere.

I know this topic has been answered for some but the solutions have not helped me.
