Linpha to G2: how to set all albums permissions at once

Hello, I've just imported all my albums from my old Linpha 1 gallery to Gallery2 2.3 RC1. Re-created users and groups too. I wonder if there's an easy to set several (read: many) albums permissions at once, for instance like Linpha's Folder Management admin page, not mandatorily in batch. I have dozens albums which have to get the same permissions and the only way I've found to do it is to edit all albums permissions one by one (which requires to set different group permissions by hand, with no way to define some pre-defined permissions sets - eek!). I thought of SQL-querying, but would like to avoid that. Any hint? |

Set the permissions you want on the root album, and leave the "apply to sub-items" box ticked.

Problem is that it's not like I want things to be.
See, my gallery is like this:
2003
2004
..
2008
and in each "year" album, I have one level of sub-albums, that are intended to different audiences. Albums that should be visible by my family only, others by some friends (there are several friends groups), or some other albums public. For instance:
2008/my_friends_at_the_beach
2008/family_party
2008/mushrooms_in_woods
Editing 2008's perms and applying permissions to sub-items simply doesn't fit my needs.

Rearrange the albums so they go:
Family - 2003...2008
Friends1 - 2003....2008
etc
Otherwise, no, you're stuffed.
