Hello. I'm looking to simply have Gallery show in WP (as a page) when clicked. What I would like to happen is have the public galleries show and then a login link/boxes to show the private galleries. No search or sidebar.
I've gone through WPG2 panel and the Gallery Admin and turned off what I thought would do this, but no luck. It still looks like a miniature install of Gallery.
Any help or direction to docs would be greatly appreciated.
FYI. My Dashboard has these items showing up:
URI to Gallery2 Ok? - [Warning]
Warning: Possible invalid URL to Gallery2
Possible Validation Problem of Gallery2 URL. The error returned reads: "http://iijsphotography.com/photos/embed.php returned HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden"
Warning: Using the Simple Header
WPG2 will generate your Wordpress header using the CSS Elements specified in the WPG2 Output options. For some Wordpress themes this will incorrectly distort the output from Gallery2 and instead you may need to create your own WPG2 Header.
Tany thanks!

Documentation can be found on the G2 Codex Site. You can switch to displaying G2 in a Wordpress page by answering Yes to Should Gallery2 Page(s) look like a Wordpress Page? in the WPG2 Tab

OK. I have that set so it displays in WP now (see: http://iijsphotography.com/your-photos). What I'd like next is to turn off the left column completely so that only the public albums show on the page and if the user logs in they will see their album there too). Does that make sense?

What you want to do is not a WPG2 feature, what you need to do is change your gallery 2(G2) styling.
You are using the matrex theme in G2, I don't think you can move/remove the left menue with that theme, log into G2 admin and check your theme setting to check. If not, there are two options
1. Make a copy of the theme and edit the template files with a text editor to create your own custom theme, you will need some knowledge of php/html to do this.
2. Find a new G2 theme that suits your needs, there are plenty out there for free.
The theme I use, which sounds like it may suit your needs also, is Siriux, you can get it here http://siriux.net/news/2005/08/19/siriuxnet-gallery-20-theme/

Thanks Oz. The siriux theme won't embed into WordPress though, will it?

No it is a Gallery2 theme. I know the VSlider theme comes in both Wordpress and Gallery2 Flavors..

As ozgreg said, siriux is a gallery2 theme.
WPG2 puts gallery2 into a wordpress page, however it does not alter the the theme of gallery2, you need to change gallery2 to suit the look you desire and suit your wordpress theme.
Check out my site if you like http://brakel.com.au to see how siriux looks for me.
NOTE: I have edited the both wp and g2 themes to get the final look.
By editing the .css file with in the theme/s you can change the styling, colour, font, etc... But not the template or page layout, so its easiest to use a theme that already has the layout you like
Are you familiar with editing .css files ?
If not, a good tool is to use firefox browser, there is a function edit css, you can them experiment with this to see how the changes will look before making the changes to the relevant .css file.
