I can't install gallery 2 script at my site hungamaonline(dot)net becoz in step 1 these options are not enabled and my host is saying they can't do it due to security reasons.
Quote:
.htaccess processed by Apache
PHPs magic quotes off
Jhead installed
Gettext support in PHP
Locales needed for Gallery
And in step4 this error appears:
Quote:
"Confirm that the settings you entered came through correctly. There are errors highlighted below in red which need to be fixed before you can save your settings."
Quote:
Missing value: Album directory!
Missing value: Temporary directory!
so what i am missing and how to solve this issue.

It looks like you're actually trying to install Gallery 1. I'll move this thread to the correct forum and someone familiar with Gallery 1 can help you out.

Hello Jalpari,
nivekiam wanted to say that we have Gallery 1.x and Gallery 2.x
He has no idea about G1 (but i have) and i have not much ideas about G2 (but he has)
First i would like you to get the latest Gallery 1.5.9, because you have 1.5.8 which has a few bugs, some are security related.
After putting this to your webspace you have to go trough the installation process again via the so called "wizard".
In Step are some settings marked with a red *.
Those have to be filled.
In your case you left out two important things.
1.) the albums folder.
This folder is the place where Gallery stores all its photos and metadata like albums names, photo captions, comments etc.
You need to create the folder in your webspace and give write permission to the webserver.
Then enter path (like /home/hungamao/public_html/albums for example) in step 2 in the tab "Locations and URLs"
2.) temp folder
When rotating a photo, or unzipping an archive, gallery needs a temporary folder to do so.
Mostly /tmp will work.
Try entering this in step 2 in the tab "Locations and URLs"
If you need more help, do not hesitate to ask.
If you think the wizard is &(/%$)/&$zl0rfix and you have a suggestion to make it better, i would be glad to hear it. (Not meant ironical)
