Hi,

My webhost has unpacked Gallery 2.2.5 on my website. But now I am not sure if I can use it in the way I intended. Would like to upload preview size photos have them purchase the actual images with Buy Now buttons from Payloadz. (Payloadz relies on Paypal, but they supply a download link. So basically, I need somewhere to put the HTML coding from Payloadz.)

Can I use Gallery this way??? If not, how secure is Gallery? If I can successfully install CheckoutPaypal would I really have no need for a download link to protect my images???

Have CheckoutPaypal 0.4.0. My server is EZ-1 Linux running Apache/1.3.33 (Unix), with 3.1.2 PHP and My Sql 4.1.22. I use a MacBook Pro with Safari or Firefox. Have the default Matrix running now but would like to use the PG Theme.

Thanks.

Yes, if you want to.

Security is measured against risk which itself depends on the value of what you're trying to protect. It's good enough for me.

The choice of whether you use checkout or some other system is more likely to be influenced by the features that you need and that are on offer.

As an aside, my perception is that 95% of people who initially think they will make a mint by selling online pictures if only they can find a way to keep them secure from the ravening hordes of hackers who are waiting to exploit their time and effort by downloading images for free and profiting from them are disappointed when they see the profound and limitless apathy with which the world greets their creations.

If I can indeed use Gallery with Payloadz, where do I put the Button coding??? I admit I don't have CheckoutPaypal working at this point, so will it be evident then? I'm not a technie. Thanks.

Ah, well, what I meant was, I expect that, since Gallery is extendible and open source, it can most likely be adapted to work with something like Payloadz, probably by inserting relevant stuff into template files, or maybe using a custom-written theme. I didn't look too deeply to see how it works at a technical level, so I can't comment in detail.

Thanks. Was hoping for an easy way to do this. Any ideas are appreciated.
