Gallery URL : m-v-p.net/gallery
Gallery version: 1.5.7
Apache version: ??
PHP version :PHP v5.2.4
Graphics Toolkit: NetPBM
Operating system: Windows 2000 Pro
Web browser/version (if applicable): Firefox 3

Hello.

I have installed an album for my daughter who is actually visiting Japan - so that she can upload photos from there. At least, that was the intention.
I did provide her with a User Name and Password and that works fine over here (Belgium). But when she enters these in Japan and clicks "login", the password box just turns blank again and nothing further happens.
I created another user & password, but the same thing happens again.
Does anyone have an idea what is causing this ?

Greetings,

Michel

Danke vielmals.

Also :

An email has been sent to Isabelle. I think she will only see it tomorrow, because of being on the way from Tokyo to Kyoto, and it's 9 hours later over there.
This might also be interesting - to see what happens on a different computer. She has to use internet facilities in her hotel or some internet-café. Could perhaps this problem have anything to do with safety settings on those "public" computers - preventing customers to send anything through HTML ? I will send you a note when I hear from her.

Greetings,

Michel

Hi Jens.

Well, that beats it all I should say. Isabelle just confirmed that she can login on the album you provided, so why doesn't it work on my album.
I will upgrade it as soon as possible, but (surely ?) that can have nothing to do with the problem - or could it ?
Anyway, she has been in Japan before and she did use a Gallery album at the time to post photos - and then it worked fine. Very strange indeed …
I hope you can find out something.

Greetings

Michel

Just to be sure:

She tried to login on my gallery - okay
Login on your gallery - not okay
Both from the same computer ?
Both from the same browser?

About 1.5.7 vs. 1.5.9
The login in 1.5.7 is a popup in 1.5.9 its not.

Oh waiiiittt: i think i got it!
Is it: FAQ: When I try to login, everything seems to go correctly, but Gallery doesn't log me in? ?

Ask her to try a login via http://www.m-v-p.net/gallery
Thats the URL you used in the config and the URL where cookies are set for.

If the solution is the FAQ, you owe me a Duvel and another belgium beer of your choice ;-)

Hello Jens.

I did send her your suggestion, not expecting to get an answer today at 19.30 as it is half past two in the night over there. But actually she did. Brave girl, staying up that late ….
Anyway, she confirms that she can login now.
So you did find it. Only, I don't know why exactly that problem occurs.

Arigatou gozaimasu ! (= thanks a lot).

its a cookie issue.

Session informations (like logged in or not) are stored in relation to the URL in G1.
