white bar in front of password field in IE

Dear all,

I've changed the colors of the matrix theme and most items look good now, though I've a problem in Internet Explorer (in firefox it works fine) and that is that in front of the password field for password protected albums there's a white bar (so you cannot see whether you typed something, and it doesn't look nice with the background color of the album).

Any ideas how to solve this? I already tried firebug but cannot find out where to change this.
