Blank Page problem

My WordPress version is 2.6.3, and I tried to install WPG2 3.0.7. My WordPress and Gallery2 installs have different databases. Upon first activating WPG2, I ran the validation, installed the required Gallery plugins that were missing and validation went through just fine. I then tried to test the integration into the editor. It opened a new browser window with a blank page.

Ever since then, most of the WPG2 menus show a blank page. I deactivated the plugin, deleted it, re-installed, but in all subsequent attempts, the WPG2 validation shows a blank page. The manual paths are all correct, but other menu pages show it's not validated.

I tried the php memory workaround, but when I add the line to my .htaccess file, I get a 500 for all blog pages. I checked the php info of my host, I have 32M assigned PHP memory. Basically, I am at my wit's end now. WordPress integration was one of the reasons I switched to Gallery2.
