The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful): http://www.northamptonmorrismen.co.uk/gallery/
Gallery version: 1.5.9
Apache version: 2
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): PHP v5.2.4-2ubuntu5.1
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
Operating system: Ubuntu Server
Web browser/version (if applicable): IE7

Recently upgraded to 1.5.9 from 1.5.7. Now users other than admin are unable to modify/add photos to albums. I can create an album as a publisher user but when i try to 'change description'/'add photos'/'rename album' i get the following error:

"You are not allowed to perform this action! Please go back to Gallery. "

Ive checked through my gallery config and it seems fine. One thing i notice is only the admin user appears when i visit the link http://www.northamptonmorrismen.co.uk/gallery/, but if i login via http://www.northamptonmorrismen.co.uk first my full user list appears. It has always been like this though and worked on version 1.5.7 fine.

I'm using community builder 1.1 if that helps, but this also hasnt changed since i upgraded gallery.

I tried upgrading to 1.6RC2, but this didnt help either. Still get the same permissions error when editing the Album title etc.

Hello,

I tried to reproduce this issue. No luck.

I installed Joomla 1.0.15 and latest Gallery 1.5.x, works fine.

Thx for testing for me.....ive rolled back to 1.5.7 for now which works again.

Maybe its an issue between CB1.1 and gallery 1.5.9?

Are you able to test with cb1.1 also?

If i get time i'll try an upgrade to gallery 2 and see how i get on.

Hi,

works also fine with CB 1.1.

Go here: http://jems.de/joomla1
login as "admin", password: "discodisco"

Feel free to test, change, add user, etc. whatever is needed to reproduce the issue.

I'm glad you setup this test site as your site gets the same error now cb1.1 is installed:

"You are not allowed to perform this action! Please go back to Gallery 1.5.10. "

exactly the same error as my site.

All i did was create a new user with publisher privs. change the 'Level for creating root albums:Publisher'

Then try and create a new album and change the title to reproduce this error.

Hi,

i found the bug and fixed it.
Was a little hard to find.

Because the problem only appears when you opened the properties popup ;-)

Fixed version will be available in my archive and in final 1.5.10

Cool. Thank you. When do you think 10 will be released? I'll look fwd to to anyway as i tried gallery 2 and really didn't like it. Didn't integrate very well with my site, pushing menus out of place, and had similar problems with user permissions.

Hello,

glad to hear it works now!
If you want to donate to the project, then the donate link is the easiest way.
Paypal is fine, but the project prefers ePay (they do not take so much fees).
