Counting items instead of albums, subalbums and images

Hi everybody

I managed some Gallery 1.X and I was used to have the mention of "X albums (total: 10), 1059 photos" at home of Gallery and "X subalbum and XX photos in this album" and now in Gallery 2.3 we have "Size: 5 items (8 items total)"
How is this possible to count photos, albums and subalbums the same way in Gallery 1.X. I found iteminfo.tpl but don't know where variables are declared.

Could you help me ?
