Importing 21k pictures from directories (BINS format)

Hi

I'd like to import my BINS gallery (little more than 21k pictures) to Gallery2.

BINS galleries are built from directory structure containing image files and XML descriptions. Directory names are used as album titles while their numerical prefixes are used for ordering (directory "001_First album" will be shown as album called "First album" and will be first on the page).

This is example of such structure:

Each directory contains "album.xml" file with album description, album highlight and so one. For each image file there may be XML file with it's title, description and so on. Please note use of polish language specific characters.

I'm looking for a tool that can help with such import. I've tried galleryadd.pl v2.30 but it's behaviour is totally random (creates albums in randomly selected existing albums, messes up non-US-ASCII characters).

I can convert above structure to any other if the import tool requires it.
