Addviaemail - post picture based on "to-email address"?

Hello,
I found "addviaemail" from this forum and it seems that this is a great tool for me.
To make sure if this tool has all functionality that I need, I would like to ask the following questions.

What I need to do is

1. Create a new "to-email-address" such as

. And this email address will be given to a person.
And this person doesn't have the account in our Gallery2 server.
2. Then the person sends a picture in his/her cell phone to the given email address (abcdefg@xxx.com).
3. The Galler2 takes the picture and upload it into a album.

Is this possible with "addviaemail"?

And I couldn't find a way to set up SMTP mail server in "addviaemail" instructions. Is there any document that explains how the "addviaemail" scans the email and take the picture?

It doesn't use SMTP - it collects email from an existing mailbox via POP3 or IMAP.

You need to use an existing email address to use this module.

I see. I might have to learn more about POP3 and IMAP.
So does Gallery2 collect the email based on the subject in the email?

yes, I think that's how the module works - I have only a very limited experience of it.
